What is 4-H?

From food science and robotics to fashion design and photography, there's a 4-H activity for everyone. Texas 4-H is a club for youth in 3rd–12th grade, with programs for K–2.

About the Program

Texas 4-H is the largest youth development program in Texas, part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. In 4-H, activities are organized by topics called projects. All members must enroll in at least one project to learn skills, do community service, and participate in hands-on activities.

You may think 4-H is only for friends with animals — but it includes shooting sports, food science, healthy living, robotics, fashion, photography, and much more.

How to Choose a Project

  • Select a project you enjoy
  • Choose one that can realistically be completed
  • Consider the time and money required
  • Think about space and equipment at home
  • A project should be fun, purposeful, and worth the effort
  • Only select the number of projects you can complete
  • Contact us to see which projects are offered locally

Get Involved

Joining Wimberley 4-H is straightforward. Follow the steps below to get started. If you need help at any point, email us at wimberley4h@gmail.com.

1

Create your family profile on 4-H Connect

Visit 4-H Connect — the official Texas 4-H enrollment database. This is also where you'll register for state events each year, so save your login info.

  • Set up one family profile only — do not create duplicates
  • Add individual youth and adult profiles within the family profile
  • Select "Wimberley 4-H" as your club
  • Write down your email and password and keep them safe
⚠ If you forget your login, contact the County Extension Office — do not create a new profile. Duplicate profiles cause problems and may result in extra fees.
2

Pay your participation fees

An active membership will not be granted until participation fees have been paid. Contact the club or Extension Office for current fee information.

3

Choose your projects

All members must enroll in at least one project. Browse the Projects page to see what's available, or email us if you have questions about what's offered locally.

4

Attend your first meeting

Meetings are held monthly at the Wimberley VFW. Clover Kids (K–2) program starts at 6:30 PM; general meeting at 7:00 PM. Check the home page for the next meeting date.
